What is Summerween?

In the last few years, 'Summerween' has become something of an aesthetic trend on Instagram and TikTok. Popular amongst those who prefer the dark moodiness of fall to the bright sunlight of summer, celebrators carve Jack-O-Melons and drink pumpkin punch.
Origins of 'Summerween'
'Summerween' was first introduced in the Disney series Gravity Falls, whose residents love Halloween so much, they celebrate it twice a year. The date June 22nd, is said to have been chosen due to its proximity to Midsummer. In Europe, much like All Hallows Eve, this date is also said to incite witchcraft and tricksters due to the intense heat. But whilst it has been around since 2012, it is only in the last two or three years that it has gained significant traction on social media.
